Utah Jazz send Koufos to the D-League

For the second time this season, the Jazz have assigned center Kosta Koufos to the Utah Flash on the NBA Developmental League. Koufos will not make the Jazz's upcoming four-game trip to Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee and Oklahoma City.

The Utah Utes start spring football practice on Tuesday. "Thank goodness" is what I can hear Utah fans muttering everywhere. What a stretch it has been for the Utes' major winter sports.

As much as Wednesday's loss to BYU hurt, the Utah Utes insist they won't let the pain linger long enough to affect their game at CSU today. The game will decide whether the Utes (7-8, 14-15) have the fifth or sixth seed in the MWC Tournament.

The Utah Utes said if they took care of the ball and made good offensive decisions, they'd have a chance against BYU on Wednesday. That is what they said, too bad they didn't follow with action.

There was not going to be a repeat of the famous Hail Mary last week at the boys' state 3A basketball tournament. When Hurricane found out that Juan Diego would be its opponent in the quarterfinal, the chance for redemption for football was there.

Prep sports: State title capped a perfect season

The Springville girls' basketball team was undefeated coming into the state tournament and it managed to end its season that way when it defeated Timpanogos last Saturday 42-36.
